A 4D prize is not one number, it is a table. What you are paid depends on which of the 23 prize positions your number lands in and which bet type you bought.
The standard table, per RM1
For classic 4D at Magnum, Sports Toto and Da Ma Cai:
Big — covers all 23 positions
- 1st Prize — RM2,500 (1 number)
- 2nd Prize — RM1,000 (1 number)
- 3rd Prize — RM500 (1 number)
- Special — RM180 each (10 numbers)
- Consolation — RM60 each (10 numbers)
Small — covers the top three only
- 1st Prize — RM3,500
- 2nd Prize — RM2,000
- 3rd Prize — RM1,000
- Special and Consolation — no payout

How stakes scale
Payouts are quoted per RM1 and scale linearly. A RM5 Big bet that hits a Consolation pays 5 × RM60 = RM300. A RM10 Small bet that takes 1st Prize pays 10 × RM3,500 = RM35,000. There is no bonus for a larger stake and no threshold that changes the rate.
Where the wins actually come from
Of the 23 prize positions, 20 are Specials and Consolations. That is the reason a Big bet feels livelier: almost every 4D win anyone actually experiences is RM180 or RM60 per ringgit staked, not a top-three prize.
It also explains the shape of the two bets. Big spreads its value across 23 mostly-small outcomes; Small removes 20 of them and pays more for the three that remain. Averaged out, they return within a sen of each other — about 64–65 sen per RM1, worked through in 4D odds and probability.
Permutation bets divide, they do not multiply
If you bought iBox or mBox, the standard payout is divided by the number of permutations your digits have. Magnum’s own mBox table shows this exactly: mBox4 pays RM625 on 1st Prize, which is RM2,500 ÷ 4. The full explanation is in betting types.
So a permutation win on 1st Prize is not a 1st Prize payout. Work out what your ticket is worth from the bet type printed on it, not from the headline table.
Jackpot and side games are a different table
4D Jackpot, 5D, 6D and the operators’ other games have their own prize structures, their own odds and, in the jackpot games, prizes that depend on the pool and on how many winners share it. A shared jackpot is divided among the winning tickets, which is why a headline figure and an individual payout are rarely the same number.
We publish verified tables only for classic 4D. For anything else, the operator’s own game page is the source.
Working out what your ticket pays
- Confirm the operator and draw date on the ticket.
- Find that draw’s result — the homepage for today, or the dated archives such as the Magnum history for older draws.
- Identify which position your number matched.
- Apply the payout for your bet type, multiplied by your stake.
- Confirm against the operator’s own published result, and claim through the operator’s stated process with the physical ticket.
A results website is a convenience for step 2. Steps 4 and 5 are settled by the operator, whose figures and rules govern the payment. If a prize amount you have read anywhere — including here — disagrees with the operator, the operator is correct.
