Malaysia’s three peninsular 4D operators — Magnum 4D, Sports Toto and Da Ma Cai — are often discussed as if one of them pays better or is easier to win. For classic 4D, that is not what the prize tables say.
What is the same
The prize structure. All three run the same classic-4D table: 23 prize positions per draw — 1st, 2nd, 3rd, ten Specials and ten Consolations — with the same standard payouts per RM1 Big bet (RM2,500 / RM1,000 / RM500 / RM180 / RM60) and the same Small payouts (RM3,500 / RM2,000 / RM1,000). The odds. With 10,000 numbers and 23 prize positions, your chance of any prize on one Big bet is about 1 in 435 at each of them. No operator is “looser”. See 4D odds and probability.
The main draw days. All three draw on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, plus special draws announced during the year. Confirmed dates are on the 4D next draw page.
What genuinely differs
The draws are entirely separate. Each operator conducts its own draw and produces its own 23 numbers. A Magnum ticket can never win against a Sports Toto result, no matter how the digits look. This is the single most consequential difference and the one most often forgotten when someone checks a ticket against whichever result they saw first.
The games sold alongside classic 4D. This is where the operators actually compete:

- Sports Toto sells a range of 4D, 5D and 6D games — Sports Toto results
- Da Ma Cai runs its own 4D variants and jackpot formats — Da Ma Cai results
These extra games have their own prize tables, their own odds and their own claim rules. Do not carry an assumption from classic 4D across to them; check the operator’s own game page.
Permutation bet branding. iBox, mBox and similar names differ between operators, and so can the pricing details, even though the underlying idea is identical — see betting types.
Outlet network and channels. Where you can buy, and through which official channels, varies by operator and by state.
How to choose
Since the classic-4D maths is the same everywhere, the honest answer is that the choice does not change your expected outcome. Pick on convenience — which outlet you pass, which app you already use, which side games you actually want to play.
Be sceptical of anyone claiming that one operator “gives out more”. Operator-level win counts vary from draw to draw for the same reason coin flips clump: randomness is lumpy, and a run of large payouts at one operator says nothing about the next draw.

Because the results are separate but the draw days are shared, most people end up checking three results at once.
